Services

At this time all training sessions are private unless advertised otherwise.

Training Sessions consist of a 1 hour lesson which includes discussion time for each individual dog, instruction of techniques and time engaging in those techniques with your dog.

Homework is prescribed at the end of each session. This is the most important part of training. Dogs learn from repetition. Our goal in the process of training is to repeat the techniques correctly and often throughout each week so that we can build on those techniques at each following lesson. If homework is not accomplished, we cannot expect to see results.

Sessions are expected to be held once a week. (Some exceptions may apply)

Available Courses

Puppy Preschool

3 Sessions   •   8-18 Weeks Old

In the early stages of a puppy’s life, they go through what is called the “sensitive period” or “critical period.” Puppy training is crucial to building good habits early and establishing a confident dog.

Puppy preschool is a 3 session program and is geared towards puppies 8-18 weeks old. It includes the basics of marker training and teaching both hand signals and verbal commands for sit, down, stay and come. In this class we also cover dealing with common puppy behaviors — no biting, no chewing, crate training and potty training.

Obedience 101

6 Sessions   •   18 Weeks and Older

Dog training isn’t simply teaching a dog to perform certain behaviors. Dog training is teaching you and your dog a language that will allow you to communicate for a lifetime. During the Obedience 101 course we will cover the behaviors of sit, down, stay and come with an emphasis on working through distractions and real-life situations. We will also cover walking on a loose leash with an automatic sit and introduce a long-stay. The long stay is a timed down and stay and is one of the most valuable things you can teach your dog. To graduate, the dog must complete a 5 minute long stay with distractions.

Off-Leash Training

8 Sessions   •   18 Weeks and Older

Would you love the ability to let your dog run, free of a leash or tether? Perhaps you have a yard that is not fenced in or you have access to property that your dog could play in. If you go camping, hiking or are involved in any kind of activity that you would love the ability to unclip the leash from your dog, but still have total control, then this is the course for you.

Off-leash is a 8 week course that builds on the same commands as Obedience 101 (sit, down, stay, come, walking on a loose leash and the long stay) but includes E-collar training (electronic collar training) so that the commands can be performed whether the dog is on or off leash. This course is also for dogs 18 weeks or older.
